When I visited New York I stayed with two friends who live in Hoboken, New Jersey, right across the river from Manhattan. I didn’t really know what to expect, but Hoboken turned out to be an absolute gem of a place! Cute streets and colourful, interesting architecture..

We don’t have that extensive wiring at home, so it intrigues me when I see it!

Hoboken is also home to quite a few very good places to eat. Just to mention a few, I can heartily recommend Carlo’s Bakery – bought a cake from there twice, both were heavenly – and Bagels on the Hudson where I got a very tasty and filling breakfast bagel!

Last but not least: Hoboken has one thing that Manhattan can never have. This view..!

I was actually a bit sad that I was too busy exploring New York City to explore Hoboken a bit more. It’s definitely a nice place to go if the bustling of New York becomes too much – the view of Manhattan is actually worth that trip alone..!
