Postcard from Dublin!
I spent 2 wonderful days in Dublin, but first I just wanted to share the gorgeous Christmas lights that were all over the city. No matter where you looked, in the streets, pubs and of course the hostel where I stayed there’d be decorations and lights. This was the photo harvest after a wander through Grafton Street at sunset and the streets around the Spire at night.
Grafton Street, the main shopping street in Dublin.
This little lady just sat there, belting out traditional Irish tunes on her little accordion. You know you’re in Ireland when…
I went home to rest my feet for a bit before I set out again to see the city after dark. Of course I was heading for a pub, but the way there turned out to be very enjoyable as well!
This is the square and streets around the Spire and the famous Post Office (An Post).
Welcome to Dublin One. Am I missing a Dublin Two somewhere?
And the bridges over the river Liffey..
The famous Ha’penny Bridge, and Ha’penny Bridge Inn across the water.
Of course it’s hard to do it justice with an ordinary camera and no particular skill set in the art of night photography what so ever, but still – you get the gist of it. It was so beautiful. The last night I had in Dublin I was walking with a new friend made at the hostel, and I can’t count how many times one of us exclaimed ‘Oh, look at the Christmas tree!’.
