Beer Around the World
Taphouse is a place with a cosy atmosphere and over 60 beers on tap, right behind the central station.
The Carlsberg Brewery in Valby houses two breweries where you can get tours, a proper restaurant, and it hosts events on Friday afternoons in the summer. The beer tasting is entertaining, instructive and delicious. My favourite beer is the Jacobsen Velvet beer, which is sadly going out of production.
If you’re in Dublin you can’t miss the Guinness Storehouse experience. See how the beer is brewed, learn about the history of the company and end the visit with a cold pint of Guinness beer with fantastic views over Dublin city.
Try the local classic Fiji Gold.
If you visit Hobbiton, make sure to try the ‘Hobbiton’ dark beer in the Green Dragon after the tour.
Visit Letna Beer Garden for a beer with a view, or Pivovarsky Klub for the biggest selection of beer in the country. Try a Prazdroj beer or the one that started it all, the Pilsner Urquell.
If you want an Italian beer, I liked the Moretti best. For a big selection of beer, go to Bir&Fud in Trastevere.
Mikkeller is a Danish beer brand with a branch in San Francisco. Very busy and atmospheric place serving up great beer (and I wouldn’t turn down the mac’n’cheese either!).
The Golden Gate Taproom is more of a sportsbar, but with over 60 beers on tap!
